Map the Square
Do we have a say as to what’s on our streets and sidewalks? A new project called Map the Square believes we should.
The Young Architects Forum – a part of the American Institute of Architects – in conjunction with the Seattle Design Festival, has partnered to implement an engaging week long exercise to address and weigh in on what the public in Seattle would like to see added, changed, or removed from the Pioneer Square neighborhood.
From September 6th to the 13th, locals, tourists, and consumers can locate a kiosk like the one above, attach the tag to an item that “needs intervention”, and take a photo. The goal, according to the website, is for community input to help inform how to transform the area into a unified, lively, and attractive place to be and experience.
