AnaOno X Cancerland
What is your legacy?
Increasingly, that’s a question that’s not reserved just for philanthropists. It’s part of the conversation for entrepreneurs, change-makers, and communities looking to make a difference.
Dana Donofree, the founder/designer of AnaOno, is all of the above and making her mark on the style, culture, and design with well-fitting, comfortable lingerie and loungewear for women battling breast cancer. Just like her.
Built around transforming something clinical to something livable, AnaOno returned to New York Fashion Week for a philanthropic-minded runway show in partnership with #Cancerland on Sunday, February 11th. An army of thirty courageous individuals diagnosed with varying stages of breast cancer – previvor to stage I to stage IV metastatic – took the runway clad in the Spring/Summer 2018 Collection to celebrate the achievements of Dana Donofree and her quest to redefine the beauty, strength and, determination with honest designs.
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to show that these inspiring individuals walking our runway are no different than any other person walking New York Fashion Week, or sitting in the audience or even riding the subway or walking into your neighborhood coffee shop. We want to show that whether you have been diagnosed with breast cancer or have a genetic marker, have breasts or have none, have visible scarring or even tattoos in place of nipples, it doesn't matter. You are still empowered, strong and sexy!” - Dana Donofree, founder/designer of AnaOno
If addressing the conditions that cause pain or discomfort in those who’ve experienced reconstruction, breast surgery, or mastectomy and launching a game-changing, debut silhouette specifically designed for individuals who choose to remain flat post-mastectomy isn’t legacy-worthy, we do not know what is.
